This tour is recommended from May to September when most of the wild Carpathian brown bears (Ursus arctos) are active. You’ll be seeing them in their natural environment, in the middle of Romania’s virgin forests, from the safe distance of the observatories.
As they are wild animals is a possibility that you’ll need to “hunt” the bears for a while but from our experience the chance is almost guaranteed to see them up-close.

This half-day tour usually starts at 5 PM but time may vary. We’ll set up a pick-up point in Brasov and depart to designated areas for this trip.
Once you’ll depart you’ll be traveling to specific destinations where you’ll meet the local guides (rangers) that will take you further in the forest.
Depending of location you will be transferred to off-road vehicles and continue your trip further deep in the wild. Last part you’ll need to complete it by foot and as quiet as possible.
From the hide you can observe the wild bears that comes out from the forest in the clearing bellow. You’ll also receive a lot of information about bears and their behavior especially.
To be safe you need to leave the observatory in day-time and walk to your transfer vehicle. You will be dropped-off to Brasov city center or any other point in proximity.
